Hwy 47/Ferry Street-BNSF Railway open house set for Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017
Meeting will outline future plans for rail crossing in Anoka
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will outline proposed plans to improve safety for motorists, bicyclists and trains at the Highway 47/Ferry Street-BNSF Railway crossing in Anoka at an open house on Thursday, Feb. 2.
The open house is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Green Haven Golf Course, 2800 Greenhaven Road in Anoka. A 5:30 p.m. presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
Project team members will be available to discuss design options and results of a recently completed crossing feasibility study. The study examined current safety issues at the Highway 47/Ferry Street and BNSF Railroad crossing north of Highway 10 in Anoka. A separation between Ferry Street and the crossing would improve safety for motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists and trains, and improve regional mobility and emergency response time.
