Interstate 35 traffic switch in Chisago County scheduled for Aug 6 - 9

Reconstruction of northbound I-35 lanes delayed until next spring

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists will encounter a traffic switch and other construction activities on Interstate 35 just north of Harris and the Chisago/Pine County line, weather permitting.

Starting at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, construction crews will be striping the newly reconstructed southbound lanes and begin shifting traffic onto those lanes. Crews will also remove the temporary barriers in the construction area.

The traffic switch is expected to be complete on Friday, Aug. 9. Motorists will then have two lanes in each direction of I-35 for travel in the project area.

Crews will remain in the area to do various construction activities through the fall under temporary, off-peak lane closures.

Reconstruction of the northbound I-35 lanes will be postponed until spring 2020 with project completion expected during summer 2020.
