Southbound I-35W in Bloomington and Burnsville closure for Sept. 11-14 has been postponed
Northbound I-35W will be closing between the Burnsville Split and I-494 Sept. 18-21
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — The southbound Interstate 35W closure between Bloomington and Burnsville that was scheduled for Friday, Sept. 11 has been postponed due to the expected rain in the forecast. We will send out a new date for the southbound closure when the new date has been determined.
Just a reminder, beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 through the middle of October, the ramp from 106th Street to northbound I-35W will be closed to allow the City of Bloomington to complete utility work and to reconstruct the ramp and frontage road. The detour will be Lyndale Avenue and West 98th Street to northbound I-35W.
These road and ramp closure are part of a multiyear project to replace the I-35W Minnesota River Bridge between Burnsville and Bloomington. The work will include reconstructing the I-35W Bridge spanning the Minnesota River and 106th Street, replacing pavement from Cliff Road to 106th Street and constructing a trail between Black Dog Road and Lyndale Avenue.
