Virtual public meeting set March 16 for Hwy 14 intersection projects between Rochester, Byron

ROCHESTER, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend a virtual public meeting Tuesday, March 16, 2021, to hear updates about the Hwy 14 construction project that will modify three intersections between Rochester and Byron to improve safety.

The online meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., March 16. Go to the meetings tab on the project website for information on joining the meeting. Attendees can join the meeting online or participate by phone. Links, phone numbers and other information are listed on the project website. To prevent the further spread of COVID-19, MnDOT has indefinitely postponed all in-person public events.

A recording of the meeting will be posted on the MnDOT project website’s meetings tab so people who were unable to attend the live virtual meeting will be able to review the presentation.

During the meeting, members of the MnDOT project management team will provide a presentation followed by a question and answer session.

MnDOT is evaluating three intersections in the Hwy 14 corridor for modifications to improve safety between Rochester and Byron. A Reduced Conflict Intersection (RCI) or a modified RCT is being evaluated at the intersection with Olmsted County Road 3. Olmsted County Road 44 is being evaluated for a modified RCI or a complete median closure. The 7th street NW intersection median is recommended to be closed.

MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all. If you need an ASL, a foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print), please email your request to Janet Miller at ADArequest.dot@state.mn.us or call 651-366-4720.
