MnDOT to host open house July 29 for Veteran’s Memorial Bridge project
MANKATO, Minn. —The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend an open house on Tuesday, July 29, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., to learn about the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge and Highway 169/Belgrade Interchange project, which is scheduled for construction in 2026. The open house will be held at the Blue Earth County Library (100 E. Main St., Mankato).
There will be no formal presentation and people are welcome to stop by at their convenience during the open house. MnDOT staff will be available to answer questions about the project, including bridge and roadway work, timeline, and detour routes.
In 2026, MnDOT will make significant repairs to Veteran’s Memorial Bridge and updates to the Belgrade Ave. Bridge over Hwy 169 connecting the cities of North Mankato and Mankato. Additionally, interchange ramp signals will be replaced, ramp configuration will be modified, and sidewalks will be replaced.
