Hwy 55 bridge opens to all travelers between Kimball and South Haven

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is excited to announce the Hwy 55 bridge over the Clearwater River between Kimball and South Haven will reopen and the detour will lift Thursday, Aug. 14.

During the three-month bridge closure, crews resurfaced the concrete bridge deck, replaced the approach panels and joints, and upgraded the railing and steel barrier approaches.

The $860,000 project improves safety, lowers maintenance costs and provides a smoother ride.

MnDOT thanks the traveling public for their continued patience as Hwy 55 was detoured during construction.
