Highway 1 underground utilities replacement in Red Lake begins Sept. 22

Motorists will detour using Highway 89, Walking Shield Road and Reservation Highway 44

Bemidji, Minn. – Highway 1 motorists in Red Lake will experience a detour beginning Sept. 22 while crews begin an underground utilities replacement project. The project is located on Highway 1 in Red Lake between Oman Drive and Main Avenue, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

This project includes replacing a portion of underground utilities on Highway 1 in Red Lake and is expected to be complete by Sept. 27. Motorists will detour using Highway 89, Walking Shield Road and Reservation Highway 44. The project is led by Red Lake Nation. Check 511mn.org for the latest information.
