Interstate 35 Goose Creek Rest Area temporarily closed Aug. 31

Rest area will remain closed for approximately 8 hours

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — The Goose Creek Rest Area on northbound Interstate 35 near Harris will temporarily close at 7 a.m. Mon., Aug. 31. The closure is necessary to allow maintenance crews to install a concrete driveway to the rest area’s wastewater system. The rest area is expected to reopen by 3 p.m. the same day.

Motorists and truckers are encouraged to plan ahead, as the closest rest area for northbound I-35 travelers is the Kettle River Rest area, north of Hinckley. To find other alternate rest areas in Minnesota, use MnDOT’s website search tool at mndot.gov/restareas.

Road work continues to be a critical service. MnDOT is committed to protecting the health, safety and well-being of its employees, contractors and all Minnesotans. Crews continue to follow the guidance of state and federal health officials to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
