Community members encouraged to attend Hwy 59 virtual open house
WILLMAR, Minn. – MnDOT is encouraging community members to attend a virtual open house for the Highway 59 concrete repair project. The virtual open house is open to the public and provides information on the concrete repair project that is scheduled for this summer.
MnDOT will be repairing sections of the concrete pavement in two locations along Highway 59. The section of Highway 59 from the intersection of Highway 14 (near Garvin) to the intersection of Highway 30 will start first and should take approximately seven weeks to complete. The section of Highway 59 south of Marshall will occur next and should take approximately five weeks to complete. However, MnDOT may start construction south of Marshall before the Garvin section is complete. Work will require a detour and is planned to start mid-July. All dates are dependent on the weather. Maps of both projects and the detours are below.
To further prevent the spread of COVID-19, MnDOT has indefinitely postponed all public meetings and in-person events, but engagement remains a priority and we are providing information, answering questions, and looking to collect feedback through a virtual open house.
The virtual open house is available at hwy59improvements.com. Community members are invited to attend as it is convenient for them.
Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) invites and encourages participation by all. We believe everyone should have an equal opportunity to enjoy the programs, services, and activities we provide. To request an ASL or foreign language interpreter or other reasonable accommodation, call Janet Miller at 1-800-657-3774 or send an email to email@example.com. Please send request at least one week in advance.
