Second weekend of I-94/I-694 closures ahead for Highway 100 bridge deck replacement in Brooklyn Center

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – As construction crews continue preparations to replace the bridge deck on the ramp from westbound I-94/I-694 to southbound Hwy 100 in Brooklyn Center, a second weekend of closures will allow workers to examine the ramp bridge substructure and make any needed repairs.

Beginning tomorrow night, both directions of eastbound and westbound I-94/I-694 will be closed between Highway 169 and Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center from 10 p.m. Friday, June 11 through 5 a.m. Monday, June 14.

At the same time, the ramp from southbound Hwy 252 to westbound I-94/I-694 will close along with all ramps to and from the interstate between Highway 100 and Highway 169. These include the ramps and loops at:

  • Shingle Creek Pkwy
  • Brooklyn Blvd (Hwy 152)
  • County Road 81 (Bottineau Blvd)
  • Boone Ave
  • Hwy 169 to eastbound I-94/I-694; and
  • Westbound I-94/I-694 to Highway 169

The ramps from westbound I-94 and westbound I-694 to Highway 252 will remain open along with access from southbound Highway 252 to eastbound I-94. The ramps from Highway 169 to westbound I-94/I-694 and from eastbound I-94/I-694 to Highway 169 also will stay open.

The ramp bridge from westbound I-94/I-694 to southbound Highway 100 closed Friday, June 4 and will remain closed until about 5 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2. During the closure, northbound Highway 100 will remain open. However, all traffic from I-94/I-694 to southbound Highway 100 will detour south on Highway 169, east on I-394 and north on Highway 100.

In addition to replacing the bridge deck on the ramp from westbound I-694 to southbound Highway 100 and repair and resurfacing the ramp from southbound Highway 252 to westbound I-94/I-694, the work includes repairs and resurfacing at each end of the ramp bridge along with drainage improvements and shoulder repair.

Weather permitting, all work will be completed by late August.
