28-day road closure on Hwy 61 in Wyoming and Forest Lake begins June 21
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists traveling on Highway 61 in Wyoming and Forest Lake will encounter a detour and delays as crews close Highway 61 between I-35 in Wyoming and Highway 8 in Forest Lake.
Beginning at 7 a.m., Monday, June 21, Highway 61 will temporarily close between Highway 8 in Wyoming and I-35 in Forest Lake.
Local access on Highway 61 will be maintained for residents and businesses in the project area. However, through traffic on Highway 61 will be detoured to I-35.
Highway 61 is expected to reopen by Monday, July 19, weather permitting.
This project work includes pavement and drainage work, addition of right turn lanes in specific locations, plus safety and pedestrian improvements. Once construction is complete motorists and pedestrians will have a smoother, safer highway with improved sidewalks and drainage. Weather permitting work should be complete by late summer 2021.
