Hwy 247 detour begins July 19 for culvert replacement project west of Plainview
PLAINVIEW, Minn. – Motorists on Hwy 247 will be detoured beginning July 19 when crews start replacing four culverts along the highway between Plainview and Hwy 63, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The highway closure and detour will last approximately two months, while crews dig out the old culverts under the highway and replace them. Businesses and residents will still be able to access their properties during the work. Additionally, there will be repairs of other culverts on Hwy 247.
Repair of one culvert is also scheduled on Hwy 63 near Wabasha County Road 7, which may require short traffic delays, but no detour.
Hwy 247 detour
Motorists traveling west from Plainview will turn south on Wabasha County Road 2 and then west on Wabasha County Road 25, which turns into Olmsted County Road 21. Motorists will then turn north on Olmsted County Road 11, which connects back with Hwy 247 west of Potsdam. Eastbound traffic detour is the reverse route.
