Signal system upgrade, ADA improvements on Hwy 13 in Waseca to begin Aug. 2
MANKATO, Minn. – Replacement of an aging signal system and improvements to pedestrian crossings on Highway 13 in Waseca will begin Monday, Aug. 2. There will also be some preliminary work that will take place on Monday, July 26.
The traffic signal, located at the intersection of Seventh Avenue North and Highway 13 near the McRaith Funeral Home, needs to be replaced with a model that meets today’s standards and current American Disability Act requirements. The project also includes improving the curb ramps.
Other Highway 13 work in Waseca includes underground storm sewer work.
A segment of Seventh Avenue North adjacent to the intersection will be temporarily closed to accommodate work at the intersection. MnDOT does not anticipate any significant impacts to traffic on Highway 13. Weather permitting, all work will be completed by early October.
River City Electric of Mankato is the primary contractor for these projects.
