MnDOT hosts virtual open house, online survey for Fifth Avenue West bridge study
DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is hosting a virtual open house now through Feb. 11 for the Fifth Avenue West bridge study in Duluth. The virtual open house is available on the project webpage and includes a community survey.
The goal of the study, which includes the Fifth Avenue West bridge and the I-35 corridor surrounding it, is to start the MnDOT scoping process for a future bridge project. It will gather initial viewpoints on the functionality and shortcomings of the current structure. This study will also identify several possible alternatives based on stakeholder and public input, preliminary engineering and traffic modeling and analysis.
The virtual open house is available to view at any time and includes information on project objectives, the total area being studied, project timeline and more. There is also a link to the community survey at the bottom of the interactive site to leave feedback on the study area. The survey is open through Feb. 11.
More information on the project, a link to the virtual open house and a link to the survey can be found on the project webpage at mndot.gov/d1/projects/5th-ave-bridge.
