Virtual open house tonight for I-90/Hwy 52 interchange reconstruction project
ROCHESTER, Minn. — The public is invited to attend a virtual public information meeting on Feb. 24 to learn more about a project to reconstruct the Interstate 90/Hwy 52 interchange southeast of Rochester, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The meeting is scheduled 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24. People unable to attend will be able to review information and displays from the meeting afterward on the project website and provide comments on the plans. To join the meeting on Feb. 24, people can go online to the project website’s meeting tab and follow the directions and link.
The project is expected to improve safety on the interchange ramps and intersections, increase clearance under the I-90 bridges over Hwy 52 and improve traffic flow and reduce traffic delays through the interchange, which is a busy commuter and freight route. Traffic counts show that average daily traffic on Hwy 52 at the site is 21,400 vehicles and 12,000 vehicles on I-90.
To learn more about the project and how to log into the meeting, visit the MnDOT project website at mndot.gov/d6/projects/i90-hwy52, where you can also sign up for email and text message updates, review information and follow up after the meeting.
MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all.
