MnDOT to host a public hearing May 5 for I-494 environmental assessment
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites interested individuals to attend a public hearing on Thursday, May 5, to review and submit formal comments on the environmental assessment of I-494, between Highway 169 and the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International (MSP) Airport. The public hearing will be held in-person at the Bloomington Civic Plaza, 1800 W. Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The public can also register to attend the public hearing virtually on the I-494 website. A formal presentation will start at 5 p.m.
People can submit comments on the environmental assessment, a process that evaluates the potential impacts of a project, between April 19 and May 19, 2022 by visiting the I-494 website.
MnDOT, Hennepin County, Metro Transit, and the cities of Edina, Richfield, Bloomington, and Eden Prairie, worked to develop a vision for I-494 from MSP Airport to Highway 169. The I-494 vision is a long-term plan that includes improvements for safety and mobility, and extends the life of roads, bridges, and other infrastructure on the stretch of freeway. Additionally, it seeks to make improvements for pedestrians, bikers, and transit users in the area. For more information about the I-494 vision and to sign up for email updates, visit the project website.
MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all. If you need an ASL, a foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print) for this event, please email your request to Janet Miller at ADArequest.email@example.com or call 651-366-4720. Please request at least one week in advance.
