Southbound Marion Street bridge over I-94 closes for repair, ADA improvements next week
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The southbound Marion Street bridge over I-94 in St. Paul will close between St. Anthony Avenue and Concordia Avenue early next week.
The southbound bridge will close by 8 a.m. Mon., May 9 to repair expansion joints on the bridge and to upgrade pedestrian/bicycle crossings to Americans with Disability Act (ADA) Standards. The bridge will remain closed until 8 a.m. on Thurs. May 19.
During the closure, traffic will follow a signed detour on University Ave., Dale St. and Concordia Ave. to avoid the closure. Please use alternate routes to avoid congestion and delays.
ADA improvements are underway at numerous locations along I-94 in St. Paul. Upgrades will be made to traffic signals, ramps and sidewalks. Pedestrians and bicyclists will encounter short-term, several day closures and alternate routes during repairs to pedestrian sidewalks and approaches to meet ADA standards.
ADA improvements and repairs are expected to be complete by September 2022.
