Periodic lane closures on Highway 10 as bridge work wraps up in Benton County

All four lanes open over weekends

BAXTER, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is excited to announce that all lanes are now open on Highway 10 through Benton County as bridge work wraps up.
Crews replaced a box bridge under both directions of Highway 10 at a stream located three miles northwest of Sauk Rapids between the Benton County Road 33 interchange and 66th Street NE.
Here’s what to expect through mid-August:

  • Remaining work to be completed: remove temporary crossovers, install guard rails and high-tension median cable barriers, and establish turf.
  • Weekends: All four lanes open.
  • Weekdays: periodic lane or shoulder closures at off-peak hours, reduced speeds. Work to occur on good weather days during daylight hours, Monday morning through early afternoon Friday.

MnDOT advises travelers to always slow down when approaching every work zone, then navigate through with care and caution.

For more information, contact MnDOT Construction Project Manager Nathan Walton at nathan.walton@state.mn.us or 218-537-3144; or visit the project web page at www.mndot.gov/d3/projects/2022/h10benton.

When complete in mid-August, the project will reduce overall maintenance costs and improve drainage on Highway 10 northwest of Sauk Rapids.
