Public meeting for Highway 61 Hastings study scheduled March 7

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) invites the community to a public meeting to view a Highway 61 improvement alternative in Hastings. The presentation is based on transportation analyses and community input gathered at two previous meetings held in May and August 2022.

This in-person public meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 7 from 5-7 p.m. at Hastings City Hall, 101 4th Street E., Hastings. A presentation will occur at 5:15 p.m., followed by an open house-style meeting.  

People unable to attend the meeting will be able to review the information and provide feedback on the project website mndot.gov/metro/projects/hwy61hastings after March 7.

MnDOT, in partnership with the City of Hastings, has been evaluating transportation needs and potential improvements along Highway 61 from 4th Street to 36th Street for safety and mobility of all modes and users along the road. The study is anticipated to be complete in spring 2023.
