Public meeting set for March 27 for the Hwy 52 Pine Island to Oronoco project
PINE ISLAND, Minn. – The public is invited to attend a public meeting on March 27 to help plan improvements to Highway 52 from near the Highway 60 interchange to south of Oronoco, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The meeting will be held in person from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 27 at the Pine Island American Legion at 108 First Ave SE, Pine Island.
MnDOT will resurface Highway 52 from near the Highway 60 interchange to north of Rochester in 2027. Since early 2022, MnDOT has asked the community to share ideas on what else can be improved. A few improvements MnDOT is looking into are:
- A frontage road along southbound Highway 52 south of County Road 11
- Flood mitigation near Middle Fork Zumbro River and the highway
- Safety improvements at intersections
While MnDOT only has funding identified to resurface Highway 52, looking into other improvements now can help identify funding to do this work as part of this project or future projects.
To learn more about the project, visit the MnDOT project website, where you can also sign up for email and text message updates, review information and follow up after the meeting.
MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all. If you need an ASL, foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print), please email your request to Janet Miller at ADArequest.dot@state.mn.us or call 651-366-4720.
