Watch for tree cutting work along Hwy 75 and Hwy 40 in Madison
WILLMAR, Minn. – Crews will begin removing trees along Highway 75 and Highway 40 in Madison the week of March 20 to prepare for a construction project that begins this summer. Work is scheduled to take about one week, depending on the weather.
Tree clearing is necessary in select areas to make room for construction. Work is being done now so it doesn’t disrupt nesting of northern long-eared bats in spring.
This is preparation work for the resurfacing of Highway 75 from Highway 40 to 8th Street and Highway 40 from Highway 75 to Western Avenue. The project includes updating sidewalks and pedestrian ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act standards. As part of the project, trees will be replanted this fall or next spring.
