Hwy 19 from Henderson to Hwy 169 opens
MANKATO, Minn. – Highway 19 east of Henderson to Highway 169 opened to traffic this morning, Oct. 6, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Highway 19 east of Henderson had been closed since Sept. 25 for erosion repairs due to damage that occurred during spring flooding. The project was expected to be complete in late October; however, workers were able to complete the repairs several weeks early.
Minnesota River Valley flooding has created maintenance and travel challenges in the Henderson area. It was necessary the erosion repairs were made prior to construction on Highway 93 in 2024-2026 from Henderson to Highway 169 to raise the highway above the 100-year flood elevation.
