Hwy 59, 108 - Pelican Rapids Complete Streets Project

Upcoming traffic impacts

• Construction resumes April 2025!
• Work will start on Highway 59, north of Fifth Avenue NE up to Eighth Avenue NW in Stage 2B
  • Automated traffic signal will be installed on both sides of the work zone to direct traffic one lane at a time. Your patience is important!
  • There will be a thru-traffic detour set up for truck traffic and those who are seeking an alternate route around construction
• Early/mid-April: Bridge crews will be completing work at the bridge over the Pelican River downtown. Expect parking and sidewalk restrictions on the east side of the bridge.
• In May, work will resume on Highway 108 east, too!

Construction schedule

Construction will be completed in phases, starting in April 2024 through Fall 2025. All work and schedules are weather dependent.

• Starting in April Stage 2B: Hwy 59, Fifth Ave NE to Eighth Ave NW
• Starting in May Stage 4A: Hwy 108 east, 2 1/2 Street to 4th Street
