History and significance

Bridge L7069 is a corrugated steel, multi-plate arch that carries Township Road 357 over Turtle Creek in rural Todd County. The arch headwalls and wingwalls and stone railing are comprised of mortared stone masonry. The mortared stone railing and wingwalls are capped with cast concrete caps. Bridge L7069 was constructed in 1940 by the Works Projects Administration. Bridge L7069 is significant for its multi-plate arch design, use of natural materials, and overall aesthetic that reflects the highway beautification and local craftsmanship promoted by New Deal policies.
