Temporary entry highway maintenance work

This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop skills for a career in transportation maintenance. Through the TAPP, we'll provide the following hand-on training for up to eight months to help you build specialized skills:

  • Routine equipment maintenance, including calibration, setup, and adjustments
  • Basic hand too use for a variety of tasks
  • Vegetation control
  • Pothole patching
  • Guardrail repair
  • Maintenance vehicles and equipment operation
  • Computer use for data entry
  • Mobile/two-way radio system operation
  • Training to obtain a Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) permit with no air brake restriction and a tanker endorsement
