Private motor carriers

Companies or people who use a vehicle for transportation in which their primary business is not transportation and is used to further their business (such as a landscaper) is considered a private motor carrier of property. If your truck and/or trailer exceeds 10,000 pounds, you are subject to federal regulations. See legal requirements.
