The signal lights at the intersections of Hwy 1/Third Avenue and Hwy 1/Central Avenue in Ely have reached the end of their useful life. MnDOT is conducting an intersection control evaluation (ICE) to determine what traffic control should replace them. We are doing our due diligence by studying multiple options.
MnDOT hosted a public meeting on June 17 to gather information on how the Hwy 1/Central Avenue and Hwy 1/Third Avenue intersections function. For those unable to attend in person, below is the presentation.
