About the Project
MnDOT is planning to:
- resurface Hwy 23 Willmar bypass from CR 5 to southwest junction of Hwy 71 and Business Hwy 71
- resurface SB lanes of Hwy 71/23 Willmar bypass from southwest junction of Business Hwy 71 to northeast junction of Business Hwy 71.
Summary of MnDOT work
- Replace existing asphalt with concrete pavement
- Update existing guardrails
- Improve drainage
Traffic Impacts
This project will require traffic control measures consisting of construction staging, lane crossovers, temporary ramp accesses and closures, and a detour for the section of the project west of the Hwy 71 overpass
This project will be completed in three stages

- Stage 1: Western limits of the project to the Hwy 71 interchange
