2024 TED project selections

MnDOT, in partnership with the Minnesota Department Employment and Economic Development, selected three state highway projects in Greater Minnesota that will receive a total of $4.45 million in TED program funding. The projects help support growing industry and businesses, leverage private funding and improve the transportation system for all users.

City of Wabasha: $2 million

Re-align Trunk Highway 60 to divert commercial traffic from a residential neighborhood to a new right of way on existing, city-owned parkland. This realignment will address major issues with the existing alignment, especially flood mitigation and crashes. This project is expected to create 111 jobs within the project area.

City of Mankato: $1.6 million

Support new safety improvements for the TH 169 corridor, with changes between North River Lane and Lind Street, including closing the Lind Street intersection and creating a new roundabout to access local businesses. This work is part of a larger MnDOT reconstruction project and is expected to create 71 new jobs.

City of Clearwater: $850,000

Construct safety and pedestrian improvements to the TH 24 corridor between CR 7 and I-94. TH 24 will be reconstructed, add roundabouts to the CR 7, CR 145, and CR 75 intersections. A new 10-foot multi-use path will be constructed along the corridor, including new pedestrian access across I-94. The TH 24 and I-94 interchange will be constructed with a roundabout diamond interchange. This project is expected to create 10 new jobs.

Total

A total of $20 million was available for projects in this biennium’s round of the TED Program. In 2023, MnDOT recommended $15.5 million in TED funding awards across both the Metro area and Greater Minnesota. The remaining funds were carried over into 2024, and MnDOT offered a solicitation exclusively for applicants in Greater Minnesota.
