County Road 9 westbound closed, detoured at Highway 58 June 17-19 for roundabout construction in Goodhue

GOODHUE, Minn. – Motorists traveling west on County Road 9 in Goodhue will encounter a detour June 17-19 at Highway 58 as roundabout construction progresses, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

County Road 9 has been closed and detoured since May 15, except the right turn from County Road 9 westbound to Highway 58 northbound was open to those who wanted to access Goodhue or travel on County Road 9 west of the work zone. That right turn will be closed June 17-19 as crews pave the road.

Motorists traveling west on County Road 9 should go north on County Road 4, south on Highway 58, west on 3rd Avenue and south on Broadway Street to reach County Road 9.
The below detour routes will continue to be in place through the completion of the project. It is anticipated that the project will be completed in early July.

  • Motorists on Highway 58 (south of the work zone) who want to continue on Highway 58: Go east on County Road 16, north on County Road 4, which leads to Highway 58, north of Goodhue.
  • Motorists on Highway 58 (south of work zone) who want to access Goodhue: Go east on County Road 16, north on County Road 4 and west on County Road 9 to reach Highway 58 north of the work zone.
  • Motorists on Highway 58 (north of work zone) who want to travel on County Road 9 (west of the work zone): Go west on 3rd Avenue and south on Broadway Street to reach County Road 9.
  • Motorists on Highway 58 (north of work zone): Go north on Highway 58, south on County Road 4 to reach County Road 9 (east of the work zone). Continue south on County Road 4 and go west on County Road 16 to reach Highway 58 (south of the work zone).

Construction started April 5. In addition to constructing the roundabout, crews will improve pedestrian and bike paths through the Highway 58/County Road 9 intersection and extend large culverts under County Road 9.
