MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend an open house for the Hwy 59 Worthington project on Monday, August 12 from 3 – 5 p.m. at Worthington City Hall, 303 9th St.

During the open house style meeting, attendees can learn more the project, which includes work on both the Humiston Ave. and Oxford St. segments of Hwy 59. There is no formal presentation and people are welcome to arrive at any time. Following the open house, there will be a public hearing on the project during the Worthington City Council meeting starting at 5:30 p.m.

MnDOT conducted a transportation study that combined input from the City of Worthington, local residents, businesses, and other project stakeholders to arrive at roadway concepts reflective of the future transportation needs on Hwy 59 through Worthington. Both segments of Hwy 59 (Humiston Ave. and Oxford St.) will be reconstructed in 2027 and 2028, and include improvements to pavement, safety, and traffic flow.
