Railroad crossing closures between Breckenridge and Norcross begin today
DETROIT LAKES, Minn.—Starting Monday, Oct. 7, motorists will encounter temporary closures at various railroad crossings between Breckenridge and Norcross, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. BNSF is replacing railroad ties in the area for the next two weeks, weather permitting, which will impact the crossings on township, county and state highways in the area. Each closure will last for one day, with an occasional overnight closure depending on daily progress.
The railroad crossing closure on State Highway 9 near Doran will occur on Tuesday, Oct. 8, and the closure on State Highway 55 will take place on Monday, Oct. 14. Motorists should follow signed detours and never enter an area blocked with barriers or cones.
