Highway 19 Winthrop box culvert replacement project nearly complete

MANKATO, Minn. – Replacement of the Highway 19 box culvert near Winthrop is nearly complete and the detour is expected to be removed on Wednesday, October 23, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Highway 19 in Winthrop has been closed since early August for the replacement of the box culvert under the highway. Benefits of the project include improved drainage and enhanced safety. Originally planned for 2022, the project was postponed until this year due to unanticipated soil conditions.

Landwehr Construction Inc. was awarded the project with a bid of $2,015,525.00.
