Public invited April 23 to learn about Hwy 14 Stockton Hill construction
STOCKTON, Minn. – The public is invited to attend a public information meeting on April 23 in Stockton to learn about this summer’s construction plans for Highway 14 Stockton Hill, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
People can drop by from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23 at the Stockton Community Center, 8600 D St. N. in Stockton. No formal presentation is planned. People can come and go on their schedule. If you attend the meeting, you can talk with project managers, ask questions and receive information about the project. The project website will be updated with information from the meeting.
Beginning June 2, a MnDOT contractor will be repairing the Stockton Hill slope and improving drainage on Highway 14. The shoulder of the road will be widened, and guardrail will be replaced.
Highway 14 between Winona and Stockton will be detoured during construction, but residents and businesses will be able to access their properties. Thru traffic will not be allowed to ensure safety of the workers. Thru traffic will be detoured.
The detour from the west will direct motorists north on Winona County Road 23 at Stockton to Highway 61 at Minnesota City.
