Highway 23 Green Valley bridge project and detour start May 12
WILLMAR, Minn. – The Highway 23 Green Valley bridge project and detour start May 12, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The project includes resurfacing two bridge decks that span the Redwood River and Threemile Creek near Green Valley, north of Marshall. Crews will also replace approach panels and guardrails at the bridge sites.
A detour will be in place for the duration of the project. Traffic will be routed to Highway 19 and Lyon County Road 9.
The purpose of the project is to extend the lifespan of the bridges, and when the project has been completed, travelers will experience a smoother road surface. PCiRoads, LLC, is the primary contractor and the approximate cost is $1.5 million.
