Ramp from northbound Cleveland Avenue to eastbound Highway 36 in Roseville closes Tuesday, May 27 for work on stormwater drainage pond along Highway 36
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The ramp from northbound Cleveland Avenue to eastbound Highway 36 will close at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, as construction crews continue work on a new stormwater drainage pond in the southeast corner of Cleveland Ave. and Highway 36 in Roseville. Work on the pond began Monday morning, April 14. Work is expected to wrap up and the ramp to reopen by the end of June.
During the closure, motorists will continue north on Cleveland Ave. and use the loops at the interchange of Cleveland Ave. and Highway 36 to travel eastbound on Highway 36. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to avoid congestion and delays.
More about this project
MnDOT resurfaced nearly six miles of Highway 36 between I-35W in Roseville and Edgerton St. in Little Canada during the 2024 construction season, along with other improvements. Resurfacing of aging pavement on Hwy 36 will provide a smoother ride for motorists and extend the life of the existing roadway.
A new auxiliary lane from southbound I-35W to eastbound Highway 36 provides more distance for drivers to safely merge onto eastbound Highway 36 which will ease traffic flow and reduce congestion. Reconstruction of the ramp from northbound Cleveland Ave. to eastbound Highway 36 and extending the merge lane onto eastbound Highway 36 allows more time for drivers to safely merge into traffic. Improved drainage will channel water to prevent pavement damage from flooding and weather events. The project is anticipated to be complete by mid-May 2025.
