Westbound Highway 10 exit ramp to Haven Road in Little Falls remains closed as bridge repairs continue

BAXTER, Minn. The Minnesota Department of Transportation advises motorists that the westbound Highway 10 exit ramp to Haven Road (Morrison County Road 76) on the south end of Little Falls will remain closed while repair work continues on the bridge damaged by a semi‑truck strike late last year.
Repairs are taking place in two phases:

  • Heat straightening of damaged steel: Crews recently completed the first phase, which involved heat straightening the deformed steel elements. This work required warm weather to ensure the steel could be properly heated and reshaped without introducing additional stress.
  • Installation of custom‑fabricated steel plates: The second phase includes installing specially fabricated steel plates to strengthen the damaged girder and diaphragms. Repair designs are complete, and MnDOT is currently waiting for the custom plates to be fabricated and delivered. Once materials arrive, crews will return to the site to finish the work.

Based on current schedules, MnDOT anticipates reopening the bridge to traffic in early to mid‑June, assuming material delivery and field work proceed as expected.
“We appreciate the public’s continued patience while we complete these repairs safely and thoroughly,” said Amer Abdulrazzak, MnDOT District 3 principal engineer of bridge and maintenance operations.

Motorists traveling westbound on Highway 10 should continue to the next exit at Highway 27 to access Little Falls.
