Environmental Management Plan Support Unit

Goal

To provide a consistent process for maintaining environmental commitments throughout project delivery to provide stewardship of the environment; comply with federal law and FHWA oversight requirements; and to maintain trust between MnDOT and its regulators, partners, and stakeholders.

Green sheet templates

The green sheet is the form of Environmental Management Plan (EMP) supported by Office of Environmental Stewardship (OES)

Instructional and guidance material for developing green sheets
Training for MnDOT staff and consultants
Plan review and other project-specific technical support related to green sheets
Coordination between the various OES functional groups regarding green sheets and environmental commitments
Coordination with FHWA regarding the role of EMPs in meeting oversight requirements
Continuous improvement via coordination with the statewide Environmental Management Plan Working Group

Collaboration with OES to incorporate commitments and related technical requirements into project development and project plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E)
Involvement in plan review for select projects
Feedback on the effectiveness and usability of green sheets or other types of EMPs
