E-Scene November 2024

Next phase of the CRSP update has been announced

By: Girma Feyissa, State Aid Traffic Safety Engineer

Announcement

We are sending this to solicit your interest to participate in the next phase (Phase III) of the Minnesota County Roadway Safety Plan (CRSP) updates. We plan to amend the current contract with up to 12 counties based on the ranking results of this questionnaire. Responses must be completed by November 30, 2024.

Qualifying 44 counties

This pertains to counties whose CRSP were completed prior to 2015. If you are among the 31 counties, whose plans were completed in 2020 and 2023, or whose plans are currently being worked on, please disregard this notice.

Supplemental Safe Streets for All (SS4A) for counties who opt-in

In addition to developing your CRSP, this round of updates will include an optional extra work to complete the necessary outreach and checklist to create the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP) needed for federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) discretionary grant program application. Prior to making a decision, we highly recommend reading the Self Certification Eligibility Worksheet (PDF) and Action Plan Components (PDF) to ensure elected leadership commitment and staff availability to engage in this process. We also recommend referring to the Notice Of Funding Opportunities for SS4A. Please refer to the Related Documents tab, download and read the documents to understand the work needed to achieve readiness for SS4A. If the county is interested in the CSAP, the county will need to answer “Yes” to the last question in the questionnaire.

No points will be added or deducted for being interested or disinterested in the SS4A - CSAP.
