MnDOT Traffic Control Supervisor
An in-person, two-day certification course designed for Traffic Control Supervisors who will be working on Minnesota state projects. Upon completion of the course and successfully passing the TCS exam participants will fulfill the language contained in MnDOT's Traffic Control Supervisor Special Provision 2563.
It is strongly recommended attendees have a minimum of two years traffic control experience before registering for this class.
Course content
Topics covered will include principles and set up of temporary traffic controls, review MnDOT traffic control special provisions, MN MUTCD, and Field Manual. Other subjects covered are work zone speed limits, temporary work zone signing, barriers, pavement markings, ped/bikes in work zones, and work zone inspection.
Registration
Classes are completed for 2024. Traffic Control Supervisor 2025 certification classes will be announced in December 2024.
Other options
American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) : To fulfill the language contained in MnDOT’s Traffic Control Special Provision 2563. A person may become an ATSSA certified Traffic Control Supervisor by receiving a certification from the ATSSA sponsored Traffic Control Technician and Traffic Control Supervisor-MN State Specific courses (TCT/TCS).
