Project work will begin on May 28. Motorists can expect single lane traffic in each direction beginning on Monday the 28th through mid-July. The median crossovers at Lakewood Road and McDonnell Road will be closed for short durations during the project time for culvert replacement. Traffic will be directed to the nearest open crossover.

Summary of work
On Hwy 61 just outside Duluth from 0.12 miles north of Superior Street to McQuade road. The project will address rough ride and increased maintenance costs by milling and overlaying the roadway with blacktop. Other repair items include culvert repairs and guardrail installation where engineering need exists.
