Hwy 105 will be resurfaced from the Iowa border to Turtle Creek in Austin. Work in Austin will include accessibility improvements on sidewalks such as curb cuts. Some storm sewer and drainage work is planned on the 11-mile work zone.
The project is scheduled to begin Aug. 22 and is estimated to be complete by October. Work begins after the Mower County Fair.
Flaggers will be in place during pavement removal and repaving work, so minor traffic delays are expected. Short-term (two weeks) detour planned for storm sewer replacement in Austin at Hwy 105 and 22nd Ave. SW.
Detour route is: Hwy 105 (12th St. SW) north to 29th Ave. SW west to Mower Co. Rd. 21 (31st St. SW) north to 16th Ave. SW east to Hwy 105 (12th St. SW) north.
