Roundabouts
This reconstruction project includes adding roundabouts – a type of circular intersection that allows traffic to flow in one direction around a central island.
Roundabouts have become an increasingly popular type of intersection because they improve safety and reduce travel time for drivers. Roundabouts decrease the number of crashes that result in death by 86% on average. They also decrease of the number of crashes that cause life-altering injury by 83%.
Adding these new roundabouts on Hwy 43 in the corridor will protect pedestrians, lower crash risk and decrease vehicle delays at the intersection.
