Summary of work

The following is the planned work on I-90 from Alden to Albert Lea.

Resurface westbound lanes
Construct traffic crossovers
Install new guardrail on eastbound and westbound lanes

This project is a flex project. If funding is secured early, construction will occur in 2024. If it isn’t secured early, construction will occur in 2025.

Traffic impacts

During construction, the following impacts will occur:

I-90 traffic will be in the eastbound lanes with eastbound and westbound traffic using single lanes adjacent to each other
Short-term detours will occur for the ramp construction at the Hwy 13 and Hwy 109 interchanges
