Highway 14 Sanborn to Springfield project area

This project includes resurfacing over 8 miles of Highway 14 from the west side of the Sanborn Four Corners intersection to the eastern city limits of Springfield. In advance of the Hwy 14 Sanborn to Springfield resurfacing project, the city of Springfield received funding through MnDOT’s Local Partnership Program (LPP) to lead a project in 2021/2022 at the intersection of Hwy 14 and West Central St. The intersection will be realigned to improve sight lines and overall safety.
Summary of work
- Resurface the roadway
- Upgrade pedestrian ramps in the City of Springfield to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards
- Add sidewalk along north side of Hwy 14 from North Park Ave. (west side) to the City of Springfield frontage road (east side - E. Rock St.)
- Add school crossing at Cass. St. in Springfield and at East End Ave. in Springfield
- Add centerline rumble strips and intermittent shoulder rumble strips through corridor
- Springfield layout
- Sidewalk layout
Traffic impacts
Traffic will be detoured during construction, which is outlined in the map below:
