About this project
The City of Lakefield received funding from the USDA-Rural Development to upgrade their wastewater and water systems throughout the city, including those located under Hwy 86. MnDOT is partnering with the City to create a cohesive roadway project planned for 2022.
Summary of work
- Reconstruct the roadway, including pavement and curb & gutter
- Replace utilities, including sanitary, water main, and storm sewer
- Provide Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) pedestrian accommodations - add new sidewalk for connectivity
- Modify accesses
- Add additional lighting throughout the corridor
Traffic impacts
Traffic will be detoured during construction, which is outlined in the map below:
