Hwy 75 Pipestone Project

MnDOT is continuing to develop design plans for Highway 75 between Highway 30 (101st St) in Pipestone and County Road 9 (21st St) in Trosky.

This project will resurface Hwy 75 between Pipestone and Trosky with a concrete overlay, address drainage issues, and install a new shared-use trail along the east side of Hwy 75 in Pipestone from Hwy 30 (101st St) south to 17th Street.

Scheduled for construction in 2029, MnDOT will be connecting with the community to share design plans, answer questions, and gather feedback as the project moves forward.

Project background:

In early 2025, MnDOT completed the Highway 75 Complete Streets Assessment, which identified improvements between County Road 57 (90th Avenue) and Highway 30. The study looked at ways to improve safety, access, and connections for all users. It recommended changing the roadway to a three-lane design with a center left-turn lane to improve traffic flow and reduce turning-related crashes. It also recommended adding a shared-use trail along the east side of Highway 75 to improve safety and mobility for people who walk, bike, or roll.

MnDOT has also been planning a roadway resurfacing project (concrete overlay) on Highway 75 between Trosky and County Road 57 in Pipestone. During early project work, MnDOT identified additional infrastructure needs that should be addressed to support the long-term condition and reliability of the roadway.

These efforts are now being combined and will move forward together as the Highway 75 Pipestone to Trosky Resurfacing Project.
