About this project
We repaved Hwy 55 between Thomas Ave. in Minneapolis and Hwy 100 in Golden Valley and made repairs to the bridge over the BNSF railroad that runs near Theodore Wirth Regional Park. This work was necessary to maintain the infrastructure and to make accessibility improvements.
Summary of work
- Repaved Hwy 55 between between Thomas Ave. in Minneapolis and Hwy 100 in Golden Valley
- Accessibility improvements and sidewalk reconstruction
- Revised left turn lane at Dahlberg Dr. to improve safety by constructing a raised median
- Constructed an alternative Luce Trail Route
- Repaired the BNSF bridge, with removal and replacement of the bridge overlay, among other repairs including widening the sidewalk and major joint repair due to rust
- Constructed side path and trail on the north side of Hwy 55 between Shaper Rd. and Theodore Wirth Pkwy.
