All traffic impacts are tentative and weather dependent. Access to eastbound Co. Rd. 42 from southbound I-35W has permanently changed. Motorists will now use the newly constructed ramp at Buck Hill Rd. to access both eastbound Co. Rd. 42 and Buck Hill Rd.

Road closures
Through October
- Cliff Rd. under I-35W is closed
Lane closures
Through fall
- Southbound I-35W is reduced to two lanes in between Cliff Rd. and the I-35/I-35E/I-35W split
- Northbound I-35W is reduced to two lanes between the I-35/I-35E/I-35W split and the Burnsville Pkwy.
- Motorists wishing to exit I-35W northbound between the I-35/I-35E/I-35W split and Cliff Rd. will use the right “chute” lane
- Motorists traveling beyond Cliff Rd, will use the left “chute” lane to bypass the ramp traffic
- Hwy 13 is reduced to one lane in both directions with head-to-head traffic over I-35W

- The ramp from Burnsville Pkwy. to northbound I-35W is closed
- The ramp from Cliff Rd. to northbound I-35W is closed
9 p.m. Sun, Sept. 13 through late October
- The ramp from northbound I-35W to Burnsville Pkwy. is closed

- The ramp from northbound/eastbound Hwy 13 to southbound I-35W is closed
- The ramp from northbound I-35W to Cliff Rd. is closed

About this project
In coordination with the City of Burnsville and Dakota County, we will resurface I-35W between Cliff Rd. and the Burnsville Split.
Summary of work
- Replace both pavement and concrete pavement on I-35W
- Replace bridges at Cliff Rd., Hwy 13 and Burnsville Pkwy.
- Create new access to eastbound Co. Rd. 42 from southbound I-35W
- Create auxiliary lane
- Update guardrail
- Improve drainage
