Weekend closure of I-35W between Burnsville and Bloomington planned April 25-28
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Crews will close both directions of Interstate 35W between the I-35/35W/35E split in Burnsville and I-494 in Bloomington to remove two bridges, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Beginning 9 p.m. Friday, April 25, I-35W will be closed between the I-35/35W/35E split in Burnsville and I-494 in Bloomington so crews can take down Burnsville Parkway and Highway 13 bridges over I-35W. Motorists should follow the signed detour using I-35E to Highway 77 to I-494. Crews expect to reopen I-35W to two lanes in each direction by 6 a.m. Monday, April 28.
There are also several ramp closures in the construction area throughout the duration of the project. For a full list of road and ramp closures visit the I-35W Burnsville project webpage.
This construction will impact the southern portion of E-ZPass lanes. This means there won’t be an E-ZPass-specific lane or option through the construction zone.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
